Ascend To The Heights offers before and after school care in Spokane for kids in kindergarten through age 12. We walk students to and from Garfield Elementary, drive Stevens Elementary students by van, and serve breakfast, an after-school snack and dinner. Open 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM, including late starts and school breaks.

On late start days, school breaks and teacher in-service days, kids spend the day with us. We close on major holidays, the same as the schools.

Faith & life skills

A Christian after school program that builds character

Ascend To The Heights is a Christian program. Every morning starts with a short devotion, and kids can share prayer requests with staff and friends.

Kids also earn rewards to spend at our school store, where they learn about money, saving and making choices with what they’ve earned.

When school lets out for summer, our summer program keeps school-age kids busy all day, with field trips and activities.

6:00 AM · Breakfast & devotion

Drop off from 6:00 AM for breakfast and a short morning devotion.

Morning · Off to school

Staff walk Garfield students and drive Stevens students to school on time.

After school · Snack & dinner

Kids come back from school to a snack, followed by dinner made on site.

Homework help

Homework time, with staff ready to help when kids get stuck.

Play & activity stations

Independent play, time with friends and hands-on activity stations.

By 5:30 PM · Pickup

Families pick up by 5:30 PM. Kids who need them can take snacks home.

Hi my name is Shane I'm a single dad of 3 girls and I used this daycare for about 7 years when my girls went in I was reluctant but the first week they went they started behaving better at home fr. I kept my kids enrolled because this isn't just a day care it's a community that really cares about your kid and your family fr every holiday is celebrated they literally help u if u need it I am a single dad took my three girls through elementary school by my self and at least half that credit should go to this daycare  they are literally life savers ty flower and family I soooo appreciate you

We serve Garfield Elementary and Stevens Elementary. Staff walk Garfield students to and from school, and Stevens students ride in our van.

Are you open on late start days, school breaks and in-service days?

Yes. Kids can spend the full day with us on late start days, school breaks and teacher in-service days. We close on major holidays, the same as Spokane Public Schools. We also run a summer program with field trips.

How much does before and after school care cost?

Rates depend on whether your child needs before school care, after school care or both. Call (509) 327-3311 for current rates. We accept Working Connections Child Care and military fee assistance through Child Care Aware of America.

What should my child bring?

Whatever your child’s school requires. We follow Spokane Public Schools dress code rules, and we provide breakfast, an after-school snack and dinner.
